May, 2003 - I was lucky enough to have completed a few projects this month. The Country Sampler was made for a sampler class that I taught in 2002. My husband Bill picked out the fabric while on a trip to Amish country in Pennsylvania. The expert quilting was done by Cindy Kurpiewski of Heartfelt Stitches, Lake Hoptacong, New Jersey. |
This Little Flag is from my pattern, Star of Hope. I originally came up with the idea of a tiny flag because I never had anything to display for July 4th or Memorial Day or Veterans' Day. I made this for my daughter-in-law, Angie. |

My grandsons and I investigated the fun of flower pounding. Aftering finding all the information I could on the web, we combed the garden for flowers. In early May, there's not a whole lot of choices in Vermont! But we did find several, some of which I wouldn't have been likely to use but for the more adventurous boys. We used daffodil, anemone, johnny-jump-up, hyacinth, glory-of-the-snow, lungwort, and several different leaves. I practiced some machine quilting to complete this little wall hanging. We had a great time with it and loved the final results. For more projects with my grandsons, see Guest Gallery 21 and Guest Gallery 25. |
